Project Overview and Costs
The Waterloo Trail is a project of unprecedented scope and breadth – a public/private partnership between the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) and the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) to create the Midwest’s premier mountain bike trail system. The approved trail plan will consist of five loops totaling approximately 25 miles, with each loop constructed progressing in level of difficulty and challenge. While some volunteer base will be utilized for trail corridor clearing, most of the trail will be built by renowned mountain bike trail builders, Spectrum Trail Designs (www.spectrumtraildesign.com).
